Channelling Jack Hardy

I channelled Jack Hardy last night. An hour before I had to turn in my song writing assignment, I had nothing – I really mean nothing.

I took a deep breath, sat myself down and wrote a four chord country and western song – sort of. I imagine the good father right now is sitting up in heaven with a glass of bordeaux grumbling “melody… it needs more melody damn it…”

Week 24 The Prompt is Loaded

Nothing every changes in my heart

Walked down the hill to the edge of the river
Trying to see the meteorite
Slipped on the ice, started to shiver, would this have happened if you left last night

Ohh it’s a heavy load, my back might go
But nothing ever changes in my heart, nothing ever changes in my heart

I borrowed a shovel dug through the rubble
Cleared a path to our front door
Told myself this time it was different, this time you’d listen, we’d end this war

Ohh it’s a heavy load, my back might go
But nothing ever changes in my heart, nothing ever changes in my heart

How could this love get so lead heavy, in the beginning
It felt so light
Sparks were flying, then asteroids colliding, then windows smashing in the middle of the night

Ohh it’s a heavy load, my back might go
But nothing ever changes in my heart, nothing ever changes in my heart
